AEROSMITH with special guest Cheap Trick
AEROSMITH – One of the most popular hard rock bands of the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s and today, will rock the Bell Centre on March 19th! They set the style and sound of hard rock and heavy metal for the next two decades with their raunchy, bluesy swagger. The Boston-based quintet found the middle ground between the menace of the Rolling Stones and the campy, sleazy, flamboyance of the New York Dolls, developing a lean, dirty riff-oriented boogie that was loose and swinging and as hard as a diamond.
Aerosmith’s ability to pull off both ballads and rock & roll made them extremely popular during the mid-‘70s, when they had a string of gold and platinum hits. In the late ‘80s, Aerosmith pulled off one of the most remarkable comebacks in rock history, returning to the top of the charts with a group of albums that equaled, if not surpassed, the popularity of their ‘70s albums. With worldwide sales of over 1 million albums throughout their career, Aerosmith released last October a brand new one entitled LIVE Rockin The Joint.
CHEAP TRICK – Combining a love for British guitar pop songcraft with crunching power chords and a flair for the absurd, Cheap Trick provided the necessary link between ’60s pop, heavy metal, and punk. With such songs as I Want You to Want Me, The Dream Police and The Flame, their sound provided a blueprint for both power pop and arena rock. It also had a surprisingly long-lived effect on both alternative and heavy metal bands of the ‘80s and ‘90s, who also relied on the combination of loud riffs and catchy melodies.
Don’t miss these two legendary rock bands at the Bell Centre on March 19th!
