More than 75,000 people have seen Gregory Charles’ first one-man show since September 2002!  Gregory is now very proud to present, for the first time ever, the english version of his two time Adisq winning and criticaly acclaimed show in Montreal on February 9, 2004!

“Black and White” is a perfect showcase for Gregory’s talents as a musician, singer, dancer and storyteller.  The show, directed by Denis Bouchard, unfolds in 2 parts;

The first, according to Gregory, is a sort of “biographical cabaret”.  Gregory talks about his parents and his childhood spent largely divided between the classical music ambitions of his mother and the more liberal musical pursuits of his father.  Fortunately, as the son of a black and white couple, his life is many-sided and he himself reflects that heritage.

The second part is an opportunity for Gregory and his five accomplished musicians to perform audience requests, whatever they may be.  Think the intimacy of a piano-bar in a full-blown party setting.

As mentioned in the show’s title, Gregory is a man of a thousand talents, channelling musicians, singers, MCs and comics.  You may have heard him as musician and back-up vocalist on Celine Dion’s 1998-99 “Let’s Talk about Love” tour, as the bilingual host of CBC’s “Culture Shock” or performing with Tuck and Patti at the Toronto Blues Fest in 1998.  He was also master of ceremonies on the occasion of Prince Charles’ Toronto visit in 2001.

Gregory Charles is multi-faceted – black, white, funny, moving and remarkable.

This is what the French press has to say…

“Moving, energizing and stunning”
Michelle Coudé-Lord, Journal de Montréal

“A show worthy of Gregory Charles’ talents.  Magnificent”
Isabelle Massé, La Presse

“Magical, touching”

“A happening party at St-Denis Theatre.  Sheer madness.   I recommend everyone see this.  It’s a good show – sweet, refreshing and unique”

“A very, very, very good show.  A must-see”
Catherine Vachon, TVA/ Salut Bonjour

“We’re laughing in the aisles and we’re sympathetic, but mostly, we’re captivated and very impressed.   We left St-Denis in awe of his talent, feeling that we had just discovered the artist of the year.”
Alexandra Diaz, Radio-Canada/ Montréal ce soir

“One of the greatest nights of my life.  You leave the theatre a happy person.  And that, is the definition of an entertainer.”
Louise Cousineau, CKAC/ Bonjour Montréal
