Le blues d'la métropole (musical comedy based on the music of Beau Dommage) Spring 2010 - St-Denis Theatre
Gillett Entertainment Group and Productions Périphérie are pleased to announce the creation of a new musical comedy titled LE BLUES D’LA MÉTROPOLE, based on the music of the renowned French Canadian group, Beau Dommage; which will be presented at the St-Denis Theatre starting March 31st through April 11, 2010.
This musical written by Louisa Déry and Michèle Grondin will be directed by Serge Denoncourt. Christian Péloquin who is responsible for the musical arrangement of the 29 songs shall appear on stage with 4 musicians. Also on the creative team headed by Serge Denoncourt are: Martin Labreque, lighting, Geodezik’s Olivier Goulet, projections and special effects and Meredith Caron, costume designer.
The setting is Montreal, May 1976… LE BLUES D’LA MÉTROPOLE, where the story’s 7 characters: 4 guys (Yvon, François, Paul and Marc) and 3 girls (Manon, Diane and Marie-Chantale), surrounded by 6 dancers, tell the stories of their lives through the popular songs of the famous band.
Beau Dommage has given their “blessing” for the project “we support them in this wonderful adventure that still amazes us; if someone would have predicted at our beginnings that our songs would still interest people in 2010 we would have never believed them…”
